HOSTING/RESPITE HOLIDAYS |
One of the ways you can help children who live in contaminated areas of Belarus, is to enable them to have a month's respite care away from the radiation in the UK.. |
CCIN organises a group of children with an interpreter for a month in the summer, and sometimes over the Christmas break for three weeks. Each family selected for hosting or supporting must satisfy our designated Co-ordinator as to their suitability. |
|||
Each family selected will also be required to complete and successfully pass a CRB(Criminal Records Bureau) check. This is new Government legislation replacing the previous social services and police checks for people caring for children. Families with or without children, single mothers with children and families whose children have left home, subject to approval by our Co-ordinator, may be suitable to host a child. |
|||
Unfortunately, the charity cannot consider single males for this role, however there are many ways to assist the charity, including fundraising so that a child too ill to come to the UK could be paid for to go to one of the many, very good, 'Sanatoria' within Belarus itself.These are rather like a cross between a holiday camp and a health farm, with many activities and treatments available. |
